Reviews / Endorsements

To the Marrow is Robert Seder’s intimate and searing journal of his five year journey through a bone marrow transplant back into life, as if there is any going back. This book is heart-breaking in the best sense of the word. It will break your heart open and offer you the chance to not let your life evaporate around you or within you.” —Mark Nepo

From the Book:

“I cannot but say that my life, what's left of it, is better for this new way of breathing.”

Robert Seder, a lifelong writer and artist engaged in the performing arts, was the author of several experimental plays and film scripts and two novels. Original productions included LIGHT (semi-finalist, Julie Harris Playwright Award). He was also a lighting designer for many artists, including Philip Glass, Lucinda Childs and Eric Bogosian. He also taught at the Bard College Institute for Writing and Thinking. After treatment for non-Hodgkins lymphoma in 1994, he wrote To the Marrow, a description of his extraordinary and harrowing journey through bone marrow transplantation and the larger cancer landscape.
