“Technically and artistically, these are among the most striking images ever made of the Granite State.”—Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests

A collection of historical New Hampshire photographs matched with contemporary images

With the support of the New Hampshire Historical Society and other institutions and individuals, author-photographer Peter Randall selected eighty historical images and matched them with his award-winning photographs to illustrate how landscapes and the built environment have changed or remained nearly the same through the years.

PETER E. RANDALL is the twelfth generation to live on the New Hampshire seacoast. He graduated from the University of New Hampshire as a history major and has worked in publishing since. He was editor of a weekly newspaper, and edited New Hampshire Profiles magazine for seven years before starting Peter E. Randall Publisher.
