$24.95 Paperback, 978-1-937679-70-5

“Each of JOHN FULLER'S three new books would be a remarkable achievement in which knowledge, wit, and complex feeling engage nature and art in an unflagging array of invention. But these three together are astonishing, and FULLER'S accomplishment seems unrivaled.”—John Hollander

Five Books is about what it is like to be alive in Oxford, UK, and the world for eighty years and to find your heart is beating fifteen beats per minute. And to survive with the help of a pacemaker, the love of a beautiful wife, and England.

“FULLER'S poetry can be seen to build a bridge of boats between light verse and solemn elegy with the best technique of anyone writing in Britain now.”—Peter Porter

“John Fuller’s accomplishments are many, not the least he proclaims a condition of joy. All of his life-loving poetry, even tragic poems, through their music, information, and hopelessly wide range of vision, confirms this unavoidable, often Mozartian result. America, it is 2016, and it is so simple: John Fuller shows us the blessings of being a great poet and an Englishman.” —Stanley Moss

JOHN FULLER taught poetry at Oxford, UK, for thirty years. He is the son of Roy Fuller, who also taught poetry at Oxford. John Fuller is the teacher of half the poets in the UK. Fuller has won various major prizes for his poetry and for his brilliantly critical close readings of W. H. Auden. He won the Forward Prize, and was awarded the Braude Award for Light Verse by the American Academy of Arts and Letters.
