The economics of artisanal diamond mining from the Belgian government funded Egmont Artisanal Diamond Mining Project
A Farmer's Best Friend? represents the conclusions of the second phase of the Egmont Artisanal Diamond Mining Project, which ran from 2009 until mid-2011 and was funded by the Belgian government. This book pays particular attention to those communities for whom artisanal diamond mining often represents the most important of limited opportunities available to earn small amounts of cash income, whether on a full-time basis or in concurrence with traditional agricultural or other livelihoods.
