New poetry

Dear Gravity offers meditations on art, violence, the allure of rough landscapes, and the wonderment, finally, of being earthly and substantial without future guarantees. It describes how we might yearn for something ethereal even as we submit gratefully to what pulls us down toward what we know and love.

Reviews / Endorsements

“Gregory Djanikian has always been a poet of amazed appreciation, a man bedazzled by life’s bounty while acutely sensitive to its dangers, acutely aware of how love and humor help us endure life’s beguiling deluge, its ‘beautiful wreckage deepening.’ In Dear Gravity all this comes across with the sweet generosity that makes Djanikian such an amiable and companionable poet.”—Mark Halliday

GREGORY DJANIKIAN has published five previous collections of poetry with Carnegie Mellon University Press. His poems have appeared in journals including American Poetry Review, Poetry, Shenandoah, and TriQuarterly. He directs the undergraduate creative writing program at the University of Pennsylvania.
